Developed from an installation investigating breath and spatial rhythm, Breathing Light translates a collective experience into a personal object — allowing light to pause, soften, and settle.
Design
Breathing is the most primal rhythm of life. With every inhale, we draw in air and absorb the environment: its light, scent, dust, warmth, and the shifting tones of our own emotions. Breathing becomes a conversation, a subtle dialogue between body and space. Breathing Light gives form to this organic rhythm. Its porous 3D-printed structure allows light to pass and diffuse, as if air were circulating through a living body—inhaling, exhaling, never static and always becoming. Through light’s gentle breath, we allow everything to move through us, and in return, we sense the quiet pulse of being.
Technique
Continuing the G-code programming logic of our previous piece, this work introduces subtle undulations along the Z-axis and a gradient control of translucency. Like a living breath, its form flows organically, letting light and shadow change with every vantage point—revealing new rhythms of distance and height as one moves around it.
